The tretinoin in it is what\nbuys you that: a retinoid at 0.01%, which is a low strength, working alongside the minoxidil rather\nthan on its own.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eWhat is in it\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMinoxidil 5%, tretinoin 0.01%, caffeine 0.2% and melatonin 0.1%.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMinoxidil is the active with an FDA-recognised hair regrowth indication and does the work.\nTretinoin is a retinoid that increases how much minoxidil the skin takes up, which is the reason\nthis bottle is applied once a day where the Solution and the Foam are applied twice. Caffeine and\nmelatonin are included as topical adjuncts; the evidence behind them is thinner than the evidence\nbehind minoxidil, and we would rather say that here than imply otherwise.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eHow to use it\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eOnce a day, at roughly the same time each day.\u003c\/strong\u003e Evening suits most people\nmost people because it then has all night to dry undisturbed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n  \u003cli\u003eStart with a completely dry scalp. Do not apply twice to catch\nup, and do not use more than directed. Neither works faster.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eWhat to expect\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe first weeks often bring more shedding rather than less. That is the treatment pushing\nresting follicles into a new growth cycle, and it settles. Earliest regrowth is usually around two\nmonths, and four months is the point at which it is fair to judge whether you are responding.\nTretinoin adds dryness, flaking and sun sensitivity of its own in the early weeks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eResults depend on continued use. This product may be harmful\nif used during pregnancy or breast-feeding.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStop use and ask a doctor if\u003c\/strong\u003e you get chest pain, a rapid heartbeat, faintness or dizziness; if you gain weight suddenly; if your hands or feet swell; if your scalp becomes irritated or red; if you grow unwanted facial hair; or if you see no hair regrowth after four months.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eIf you live with a cat, read this.\u003c\/strong\u003e Minoxidil is severely toxic to cats, and the exposure does not have to be direct. In a review of poison-control cases, the most common route was transfer from the owner's own treated skin or bedding, and around one in eight affected cats died. A cat that brushes against a treated scalp, sleeps on the pillowcase or licks a sleeve can take in enough to be poisoned. Keep cats away from the treated area until it is completely dry, wash your hands straight after applying, and wash pillowcases and towels separately. If your cat is exposed, treat it as an emergency and call a vet.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eIf there is a baby or a small child in the house.\u003c\/strong\u003e Cases of unwanted hair growth have been reported in infants after skin contact with an adult using topical minoxidil, including through shared bedding and clothing rather than direct application. Let it dry completely before you hold a child, wash your hands straight afterwards, keep treated bedding and towels away from them, and do not let a child touch the treated area. The effect reverses once the exposure stops, but it is worth avoiding in the first place.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eThis formula is compounded.
